Peregrine Foresight

Peregrine Foresight is an electronic system used to complete, review and approve travel risk assessments for overseas trips on University business. Please aim to complete the Peregrine Foresight risk assessment process 10 days before travel.  The risk assessment must be approved before travel takes place in order to meet the University Travel Insurance requirements!
Once your risk assessment is approved, the University's Travel Insurance will cover your business trip. You will receive notification when it is approved — do not travel until you have approval.
Any private travels (before or after your business trip) will not be covered and require private insurance.

The University also requires staff and research students to complete a risk assessment for travel within the UK. Such trips are not covered via Peregrine Foresight. Instead, please follow the risk assessment for UK travel procedure. Note that the University travel insurance does not cover trips within the UK.

IMPORTANT:  Full-time PhD students wanting to study or carry out research away from Cambridge for more than two weeks must apply to ‘work away’. They should follow the postgraduate guidance on leave to work away and use the Peregrine Foresight risk assessment procedure below.

To log into Peregrine Foresight:

• Open the Peregrine Foresight login page
• University staff and students should use the blue button ‘Login with Organisation Account’
• IMPORTANT: Please submit your risk assessment to "Approvers Computer Science and Technology" rather than any individual. This will avoid delays or missed submissions.
  • This should be done no later than 10 days before travel starts.
• If more information is required or details are missing, your submission will be sent back to you. You will need to provide the missing information and resubmit your Pre-Travel RA  to the Approvers!
