Documents dating from the early days of the Lab which have been OCR'ed or retyped. This is a) because the originals are increasingly fragile, b) to allow them an audience. Typographic errors have not been corrected from the originals. Annotations may appear at some point.
R.M.Needham notes "I don't know when the Lab Xmas parties with entertainment finished. I think it was likely when we moved to the present building. The entertainment was often furnished by users, who at that time if need be had offices in the Lab and regarded themselves as part of it, perhaps in preference to their home Departments. I was certainly present for the EDSAC dirge, which I think was 1958 though it may have dragged on to 1959 - no later."
