Each contour plot corresponds to the metric "quality" predictions for the "Flicker Detection - Achromatic Disk" test, while the red line corresponds to the ground truth. Metrics that align well with the psychophysical data should follow the elaTCSF model (red-line) near the detection threshold. The test stimuli examples can be found here. You can click and hold the mouse on each test stimulus to view its reference image.
