Bogdan Roman

Bogdan Bogdan was born in Buzau, Romania. He was awarded the BEng degree in Electrical and Communications Engineering from the "Politehnica" University of Bucharest, Electronics and Telecommunications Faculty, Romania in 2001 under the supervision of Dr Remus Cacoveanu. He received his MSc degree from the University of Versailles, France in 2002 under the supervision of Dr Bruce Denby.

In 2002 he held an internship position at Vodafone, France within the GSM Network Planning division under the best supervision of Olivier Deuffic where he received an internship prize for his contribution in network performance analysis. He then worked in France in the field of Supercomputing, more specifically computing clusters and 3D graphics clusters, as hardware and system designer and then leading the development for cluster management software.

At Cambridge, besides his research, he has supervised 150+ undergraduate students on many courses such as Probability theory, Discrete maths, Proof and logic, Electromagnetics, Information engineering, Signal analysis, Communications, Linear circuits and devices, Digital integrated electronics, Microprocessors, Networking and protocols. He was the MCR Computing Officer at Girton College in 2007-2008 and cofounder and president of the Cambridge Romanian Society (now having 50+ members) in 2007-2009.

In 2010 he became a Fellow of Homerton College and a Director of Studies in Computer Science. Since 2011, he gives a short lecture on wireless comms as part of the Topical Issues course in the Easter term of Part II (3rd year undergraduate).
