Presentations

Each student will prepare presentations for 2-3 papers which will be of 20 mins in length and will happen during the classes. The order of student presentations and the assignment to papers will be decided randomly by the lecturer. The presentation style, the slides and content, and the question/answer sessions will all be assessed. This will constitute 30% of the final mark and and will include a 10% for discussion participation and presence. A class list of attendance will be kept and apologies for absence should be sent to the lecturer prior the lecture.

The assigment of presentations per week to students is listed here.

Weekly Reports

Each student will prepare a report each week about on one of the papers to presented in class: the choice of which paper is up to the student. Each report should informally follow this template and should be no more than 1000 words (recommendation would be for a 750 words report). Reports will be marked with a score up to 10. Marks will be awarded and penalties for late submission applied according to the ACS Assessment Guidelines. In the week a student is presenting, no report should be submitted by that student. This component of the course will contribute 70% of the final mark. Your reports (and slides) are due by Noon on the working day prior to the class via Moodle
