Open Days and Events
Websites and prospectuses are great for gathering information on degree courses, but they are not a substitute for meeting the lecturers in person and exploring student life yourself. Each year we participate in a range of events that give you the opportunity to quiz those involved in running the computer science course.
Open Days 2014: July 3rd and 4th
The University of Cambridge as a whole has two big open days every year, which incorporates the Computer Science annual open days. In 2014, the open days are on Thursday 3rd and Friday 4th of July 2014.
The Computer Laboratory will be putting on a series of subject talks and demonstrations of student projects and faculty research. A presentation about the Computer Science course and admission to it will be given 10.30-11.15 in Lecture Theatre 2 and repeated 13.30-14.15 in Lecture Theatre 1. Visitors also have the chance to speak one-to-one with Directors of Studies for Computer Science, as well as explore Cambridge.
In addition to the admissions talks, there will be various demonstrations in our practical laboratory above the lecture theatres 11.00-13.00 and 14.00-16.00. As well as showing off some exciting technology, there will be a chance to talk to Professors, Lecturers, College Director of Studies and, crucially, current and past students.
Everyone who is registered for the Open Days is welcome to attend the Computer Lab events, including students of any level, parents, guardians, and teachers. Unfortunately the event is oversubscribed and registration has now closed. If you were unable to get a place, please feel free to contact us by email or browse the admissions presentation, which will appear on this site after the event.
Oxford and Cambridge Regional Conferences 2014
The University holds a series of regional conferences with Oxford each year.
If you can't easily travel to one of the venues, or the venue is fully booked, you will still be able to download the presentation from this website in the downloads section.
