RTCP for source specific multicast networks

Julian Chesterfield
Modifications to RTCP for operation over Source Specific Multicast networks Source Specific Multicast is a promising technology that is currently experiencing significant deployment throughout the internet. One of the challenges presented by the new model, i.e. one-to-many broadcast capability, is that it breaks the operation of existing higher level many-to-many applications. RTCP, the accompanying control protocol to RTP, is one such victim. This talk will present the current work within the IETF to introduce changes to RTCP to address this problem, some new algorithms that are being proposed and the security issues that are also involved.
