CIEL is currently developed by six researchers in the Networks and Operating Systems group of the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory.

Derek Murray is a
final-year PhD student in the Computer Laboratory, where he leads
the CIEL project. Derek is currently carrying out research into
expressive programming models for data-intensive computing. At
various times, his research interests have included code
optimisation, high-performance computing, and OS virtualisation. You
