Martin Brown is a Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Laboratories Cambridge where he is University Liaison Manager. He is also a Visiting Fellow at the Laboratory for Communications Engineering at Cambridge University. His interests include multimedia over networks and Home Networking. He has led a joint project with Cambridge University called Video Mail Retrieval which used speech recognition to do retrieval from multimedia databases. He is currently installing the Cambridge Broadband Trial which will deliver 60 Mbps bidirectionally to subscribers over wireless at 3.5 GHz. This is a joint LCE/AT&T/CBL project, the installation provides a stepping stone to research on Broadband to the Home.
