Packet error rate and bit error rate non-deterministic relationship in
optical network applications
Andrew Moore
The non-deterministic relationship between Bit Error Rate and Packet Error
Rate is demonstrated for an optical media access layer in common use. We
show that frequency components of coded, non-random data can cause this
relationship
NOTE: Ostensibly this is a practice talk for a 12 minute presentation at OFC
the following week, once I've finished the practice bit, I plan to talk
further through the motivations and implications of this work.
