I'm half-way through my PhD and don't really fit into either Planners or Finishers. What should I do?

The two groups that we have chosen are fairly broad, so don't worry about whether you fit into either of them. The best plan is to choose the group that you feel most comfortable with. It might also be a good idea to discuss with your advisor which group would be most beneficial for you.

Can I apply to both groups?

Unfortunately not. We can only accept applications to one group or another, not both, so please choose the group that you think best represents the state of your research.
