PhD Research Opportunities

I am always looking for bright and enthusiastic students to join our research group. If your research interests lie in the area of computer architecture, compilers, interconnection networks or VLSI design, I would be very happy to talk to you about the possibility of you pursuing research with us.

The first step is for you to send me a short research proposal. My email address is I am happy to provide some feedback on your proposal before you make your final submission.

If you contact more than one person in the Computer Laboratory, please make sure you let each person know that you have also contacted others.

Your application

Full details of the application procedure and funding sources can be found here.

Please make sure that you contact me well before your application deadline (December 1st for applicants from the EU or the "rest of the world", 15th October for US applicants). This ensures that we have some time to discuss research opportunities and your research proposal. The final deadline for applications from self-funding or home applicants is March 31st, but submitting an application before January 14th is strongly recommended in order to qualify for all possible sources of funding.

Additional funding sources

These funding possibilities are in addition to the studentships that are associated with individual research projects. The board of graduate studies provides more information about graduate financial aid here. This funding search tool may also be useful (here you can search by citizenship for example).
