PhD Research Opportunities

I am always looking for bright and enthusiastic students to join our research group. In particular, I would be very happy to discuss projects in the area of computer architecture, e.g. hardware for machine learning, many-core processors, RISC-V and lowRISC, hardware security, HW accelerator design etc.

The first step is for you to send me a short research proposal. My email address is I am happy to provide some feedback on your proposal before you make your final submission.

If you contact more than one person in the Computer Laboratory, please make sure you let each person know that you have also contacted others.

Your application

Full details of the application procedure and funding sources can be found here.

Please make sure that you contact me well before your application deadline. This ensures that we have some time to discuss research opportunities and your research proposal.

Funding may be linked to a particular project or from other sources such as the Cambridge Trust, Gates Cambridge or departments. Details of the various funding opportunities can be found here. Colleges also offer graduate funding, e.g. St. John's College and Peterhouse College.
