Object Language and Metalanguage in Sanskrit Grammatical Texts

For my MPhil dissertation, I considered the so-called "metalanguage" used by the great Indian grammarian Panini in his Astadhyayi, and the manner in which the concept of metalanguage has been understood by classical and modern Paniniyas. It's an interesting topic, and hopefully I'll get round to putting up a brief account here. In the meantime, you can read a revised and expanded version of my dissertation.
