  Play with the MIPS processor

Over the summer of 2006, Robin Message and David Simner designed a MIPS style processor, cache and peripherals for the Altera DE2 board. These new Altera boards are available from a demonstrator. The new boards and a revised MIPS processor will be use for the ECAD+Arch labs in 2007

A description of the MIPS processor is provided as part of the Computer Design course. We have also prepared a MIPS assembler crib sheet and the source to build your own MIPS processor (as a gzipped tar file). Please send Simon Moore your comments, and if you would like to revise the MIPS processor over the summer of 2007, there may well be a summer job or two available.
