IMP - Interactive Multimedia Presentation

The IMP - Interactive Multimedia Presentation - project is investigating how to provide support for the process of constructing interactive applications within distributed multimedia environments.

The diagram below illustrates the main concepts of an initial prototype support framework. It provides application developers with abstractions to assist them in constructing any of a wide range of application types. Objects and services manage the realisation of run-time aspects of interactive presentation.

The framework is extensible in that support for new environment components can be integrated easily, when required.

You can read more about IMP in the technical report Presentation support for distributed multimedia applications.
