Serving Information to the Web

If you just want to use the web as an information source, you don't need to know about WWW servers - you only need to run a client such as Mosaic to browse everyone else's information. However, if you want to present your own information on the web, you'll either need to run a WWW server yourself, or hire space on someone else's server.
