Nada Amin

I am a lecturer in Programming Languages.



Nada Amin is a University Lecturer in Programming Languages in the Computer Science and Technology Department and a Fellow of Jesus College. Her research and teaching interests include meta-programming, advanced functional programming, type systems, verification and applications to machine learning, biology and performing arts.

Previously, she was a member of the team behind the Scala programming language at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL), where she pursued her PhD. She has worked as a software engineer at Google, on the compiler infrastructure supporting Gmail and other Googe Apps. She holds bachelor of science and master of engineering degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

She enjoys reading literature, in particular French -- her favorite authors include Marcel Proust, Romain Gary and Albert Camus. She enjoys music, dabbling in piano and guitar as well as composition. She enjoys dancing, and sometimes attend the Lindy Hop events in Cambridge. She wants to use the Jesus College ground for short films.
