I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Computer Science and Technology of the University of Cambridge. I am affiliated with the Networking for Development Lab (N4D Lab) where I work on the EU H2020 RIFE project.

Before coming to University of Cambridge, I did my PhD at UPC Barcelona and IST Lisbon (with Distinction and Honour), where I was an EMJD-DC fellow. Before that, I spent some time as a researcher at Max Planck Institute for Software Systems (MPS-SWS) and Saarland University Graduate School of Computer Science.

My research interests centre on decentralized cloud infrastructures (edge clouds). I am heavily involved in network and system measurements (e.g., wireless mesh networks), looking at topics ranging from service placement to service resilience.

  • April 2018: Our paper: "Information-Centric Multi-Access Edge Computing Platform for Community Mesh Networks" got accepted in ACM COMPASS 2018.
  • April 2018: We did the first Hyperledger Fabric deployment in a production wireless mesh network. Report here [arXiv].
  • March 2018: I wil give a talk on our mesh networking experience at GAIA IETF 101 London meeting.
  • February 2018: Our paper "A Lightweight Service Placement Approach for Community Network Micro-Clouds" got accepted by Journal of Grid Computing.
  • November 2017: Our paper "Gelly-Scheduling: Distributed Graph Processing for Service Placement in Community Networks" got accepted in ACM SAC 2018.
  • October 2017: Our paper "Towards Decentralized Resilient Community Cloud Infrastructures" got accepted in ACM Middleware MECC 2017 Workshop.
