Background

I am Shin Horng Wong, and I came from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a country with one of the best food in the world.  I obtained a Bachelor in Engineering, with first class honours, from Monash University, Clayton, in Australia.  I also completed a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Cambridge, England.  My research was done at the Laboratory for Communication Engineering, under the guidance of  Dr. Ian J. Wassell, and the area of my research was Channel Allocation for Broadband Fixed Wireless Access Networks.  The town, Cambridge, is known for its colleges and punting on River Cam, which are shown in the background of the picture above.  I have worked for Lucent Technologies as a regional technical support engineer for Asia-Pacific, prior to taking up my Ph.D.

I am grateful to the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and Adaptive Broadband Limited for their scholarships, which enabled me to complete my Ph.D.

I enjoy traveling, reading (non-fiction), gym, movies and most importantly food (especially Chinese and Italian).
