Security Group

Ilias Marinos
I am a PhD student in the Security and NetOS groups at the Computer Laboratory, under the supervision of Dr. Robert Watson and Prof Mark Handley.
Before joining Cambridge, I have obtained an MSc in Networked Computer Systems at University College London. My alma mater is Computer Engineering & Informatics Dep. at University of Patras, Greece.
Research
My primary research interests include systems and networks, and I enjoy building high-performance networked computer systems. In particular, I am very interested in the area of host data plane acceleration, seeking to achieve high-throughput and low-latency network and storage stacks, using off-the-shelf contemporary hardware.
Furthermore, I have interests in operating systems security, application compartmentalisation, capability systems and language-based security. In the past I have worked on the CTSRD project.
