- To make sure automatic area code dialling is turned off, make a new
dialling area. (From the Windows menu, click Settings,
the Connections tab, Modem, the
Dialing tab, the New... button, and type in a
name, e.g. GPRS.) Click on Dialling patterns..., and in
each box, replace the dialling code with "G".
- From the Connections tab, click New
Connection..., give it a name, and select Generic IRDA
modem at 57600 baud. Click Next.
- Leave the country-code and area-code blank,
and fill in the phone number as:
*98*1#
Click Next.
- In the Extra Dial-string modem commands box, type:
+CGDCONT=1,"IP","mob.cl.cam.ac.uk";
(If you are not connecting to the University of Cambridge Computer Lab,
you should use the name of your GGSN here, instead of
mob.cl.cam.ac.uk.)
Click Finish.
- Turn on IRDA on the phone, and in the Connections folder,
click on the new connection. Enter your user id and RADIUS
password, and select GPRS in the Dial from field.
The line above it should read "Phone: T*98*1#". Click
Connect.
