The latest release of omniNotify is version 1.0 (the initial release).
omniNotify is copyright AT&T Laboratories -- Research. It is free software. The daemon program in omniNotify is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) as published by the Free Software Foundation. See the file COPYING for copying permission of this program. The library in omniNotify is distributed under the GNU Library General Public License (LGLP). See the file COPYING.LIB for copying permission of this library. The licenses are also contained in the distribution itself.
The sections below tell you how to Download a source or binary distribution (get a tarball) and Check out the source from an anonymous CVS server.
Use the form below to retrieve the omniNotify source tree. For convenience, we have pre-built omniNotify on a number of common platforms, and you can also retrieve a copy of these binaries. Binary distributions contain the omniNotify runtime library, the omniNotify daemon, and the omniNotify source. (All distributions contain the source.)
Instructions: Select `Source code only' or the platform you require; fill in the rest of the form; click the Download button.
The very first thing you should do is go and read about anonymous CVS access for the omniORB source tree. You will find instructions on how to use acquire and use cvs.
The omniNotify source distribution must be installed inside the src/services
directory of a working omniORB 3.0.2 (or higher) tree. The following cvs commands
check-out the latest omniORB tree and then the latest omniNotify tree. You can skip the
first checkout if you already have a working omniORB tree.
export
CVSROOT=":pserver:anonymous@cvs.uk.research.att.com:/cvsroot" |
You must first configure and build the main omniORB tree if you haven't already done so
(see the omniORB README files for details). Then, go to the src/services/omniNotify
directory
and do `gnumake export
'.
Using the tags omni3_develop
and omniNotify1_develop
will
give you the latest bug fixes for omniORB3.x.y and omniNotify1.x trees,
respectively. Other tags are available, e.g., for checking out specific releases.
See the omniORB CVS page
for a list of available omniORB tags. The following branches and tags exist in the omniNotify
