Subject: new improved archive searching
Date: Fri, 13 May 1994 09:37:10 -0600
From: Phil Windley <windley@lal.cs.byu.edu>

The search engine on the info-hol archive has been upgraded to provide
better searches and more information on search results. The search results
now show (and searches take place over) the first line of the message as
well as the subject, author, and date. The info-hol archive can be
searched using a web browser at <A
HREF="http://lal.cs.byu.edu/lal/hol-documentation.html">this URL</A>.

We are working on extracting meaningful keywords from info-hol messages to
allow keyword searches as well. If anyone knows of good algorithms for
extracting keywords from text, we'd appreciate a pointer.

PS. I noticed while testing the new search engine that I sent a message to
info-hol several days ago that really should have gone to the *info-lal*
mailing list. I apologize for the spurious mailing about libertarian
politics!
