Agenda

  1. Conduct review

Minutes

Dr. Greaves seemed quite pleased with the progress of the project to date. After a round of introductions, he then asked about individual roles, and seemed happy that each person had some real work to do. He also seemed fairly happy with the structure of the program, although seemed to favour more closely following the structure of the EDSAC, by coding seperate Control and Arithmetic units. After we explained that our design was for the registers (in particular the accumulator) to be able to handle arithmetic functions internally, and that the CPU class essentially handed out work to the memory and regisered, he agreed that our system was fine. He was worried about the ease of testing such a configuration, but that was okay, because we're worried about that too, and are trying to sort that problem out.

The only major point was that he's keen to see us do more testing, and also re-stated the fact that the bulk of the coding should be done by the next meeting (in two weeks).

The group decided to hold a short meeting after the review.
