The analysis of the results of proteomics experiments is sometimes difficult due to problems with the quick annotation of newly identified proteins. Here we describe CG Summary, a program which aids researchers who study protein interaction networks of the model organism
Drosophila melanogaster. The program is able to quickly extract relevant gene ontology information from FlyBase (
http://www.flybase.org) of proteins identified using mass spectrometry analysis of purified protein mixtures. The result is a rapid generation of enriched summaries that enable researchers to make use of available ontology when assessing the functions and interactions of proteins.
