Security Group
I am currently (November 2008) supervising students in Security Engineering.
Policies
Supervisions are not lectures; your participation is required. You should prepare for supervisions by reviewing your notes, completing all assigned work and preparing questions. Specifically, please respect the following policies:
- Scheduling
- I will try to schedule supervisions at a time that is convenient for everyone involved. Once a supervision is scheduled, I'll expect you to be there on time.
- If you have a good reason to reschedule (illness, emergency, etc.), e-mail me and your co-supervisees as soon as you can so that we can all discuss rescheduling. Assigned work will still be due, unless otherwise agreed upon.
- No-shows will be charged to your College.
- Assigned work
- Assigned work should be submitted by 1500h the day before the supervision.
- Electronic submission of work is preferred, but handwritten work is also acceptable. If you submit handwritten work, please make sure that it is legible, bound (staple, envelope, etc.) and has my name marked clearly on it.
- You should submit your work even if you know it's incomplete or incorrect; such work tells me what you most need help with.
- Questions
- If you have questions that aren't related to the assigned work, please try to email me in advance. This is not a requirement (I hope that lots of questions will come up during the supervision), but the more time I have to prepare an answer, the more thorough and complete it can be.
- Feel free to email me at any time, about anything related to the supervision, including objections to these policies.
