In August 2016 I contributed a watercolour to the Xu Zhimo Poetry and Art Festival in King's. I was asked to paint a watercolour on each of the scrolls containing the signatures of the festival attendees. I added the willow tree in King's, near the calligraphy stele celebrating part of Xu Zhimo's famous poem about Cambridge. See scroll 1 and scroll 2.
This led to a project to draw and paint the willow tree.|
