Approximately Timed TLM

This course emphasises loose timing.

TLM standard also describe approximate timing methods (not examinable).

Approximate timing is most useful with the non-blocking TLM coding style, since this can model more detail over when a transaction starts and end, such as the length of the request phase:

For non-blocking TLM, four timing points may be of interest:

• first try start,
• succeed (last try) start,
• first try end,
• succeed (last try) end.
