    he first week is spent in training, covering financial products, the Barclays Capital business model, IT, presentation skills and Bloomberg before joining the desk. Interns are expected to work on a range of projects, from live transactions and marketing projects, to research and analysis, depending on the business area. Informal training continues throughout the programme in a weekly speaker series, providing a broader knowledge of the firm and the activities of individual businesses.

    As well as the everyday work, interns are allocated buddies and also have a lot of opportunities to socialise and network with intern colleagues, recent graduates and senior members of the firm.
