The CSK Energy project started in December 2008 with hardware/software development. The trials in 25 residential households and areas of the William Gates Building (CL) ran from May 2009 until September 2010. The results have been published in a leading conference, and the software and hardware produced released under open-source licenses:

  • Network (open standards)
    • IPv6 for low power sensor nodes 802.15.4 (IETF 6lowpan)
    • IPv4 in gateways (FriendlyARM running Android)
    • WSN meshed networking communication
