Welcome to the 1st Oxbridge Women in Computer Science Conference

We are delighted to announce the first Oxbridge Women in Computer Science Conference, to be held on 27th February 2014, in Cambridge, UK. The Oxbridge Women in Computer Science Conference is an annual conference that aims to bring together junior and senior female computer scientists at Cambridge and Oxford, with the aim to encourage collaboration through formal and informal discussion.

The conference will include talks by key speakers from academia and industry who will share their experiences with the participants. The keynote speakers are Professor Ursula Martin from Oxford University, and Oana Florescu from Google, Zurich. This year's conference has been made possible through the generous sponsorship of Google.

All female students, faculty and staff members of the department are welcome to attend the conference. There is no registration fee for the conference; and snacks, lunch and a conference dinner at Trinity Hall college will be provided free of charge. The deadline for registration is 14th February 2014. Coach transportation will be provided free of charge for all participants travelling from Oxford. The coach will leave the department at 8 a.m. and is expected to be back in Oxford before 11 p.m.

Current undergraduate, MPhil/MSc and PhD/DPhil female students are encouraged to submit abstracts for presentations or posters on their topic of research. The deadline for submission is 14th February 2014. Presentations will be 8 minutes long while posters can be up to size A1. There will be an all female panel of senior Oxford and Cambridge academics and technologists who will provide valuable feedback to each speaker in a friendly environment.

The Selection Committee will review all abstracts for presentations, whereas all poster abstracts will be accepted. Notifications of acceptance for presentations will be sent by 20th February 2014. (All rejected presentations will be offered a poster slot.)

To register, please see the registration and abstract submission guidelines.
