This document tries to set out some of the important issues regarding the maintenance of the Fairisle network and the Wanda experimental development environment. As new members join the systems group it is important to ensure that they understand how the current experimental environment works, so that they can properly use and maintain it.
This document does not claim to be authoritative. It merely contains my knowledge of the (admittedly complicated) set of procedures which are used by the current research students and research assistants to keep the experimental world running. Doubtless there will be errors in this document. If you are in doubt, please consult your nearest guru, who will put you on the correct track.
