Origami project hardware information

This is a repository for information about the hardware setup of the stuff associated with the CL CAEs. It is probably not interesting to people outside the Computer Laboratory.

For all cable specifications, the connectors specified are those that go at the end of the cables, so to build an RS232 camera lead (for example), use an RJ-11 male at one end and a DB9 male at the other.

The following information is currently available:

Using eXceed securely from the PWF
Serial port pinouts
IDL specifications (not here yet).
Writing CD-ROMs on snow.cl
setting up 3dfx cards under Linux/x86.
Control protocol for the AKAI video switch.
