Frequent travellers using any of 10 UK airport terminals can enroll in IRIS (Iris Recognition Immigration System) for automatic entry into the UK without passport presentation or queueing at Immigration Control. Rather, they just look at iris cameras in gates like this and, if they are enrolled in the system -- as are more than 1 million persons so far -- they are automatically recognised, without having asserted an identity, and the gate opens.
